Turbocharger / Supercharger Overboost Condition
What P0234 means
P0234 sets when the ECM sees manifold/boost pressure climb higher than the commanded or safe maximum. To protect the engine the ECM usually cuts power and drops into limp mode. It is most often a boost-control problem, not a failed turbo.

- Check engine light on
- Sudden power loss / limp mode under acceleration
- Boost gauge spiking or surging
- Hesitation or bucking when the turbo spools

- Faulty boost-control (wastegate) solenoid
